Alice Mae Shelton, 83, of Bucyrus, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.
Alice was born in Wheelersburg, OH on April 26, 1941 to the late Homer and Lula (Cyrus) Burke. Alice married Dannie Shelton in Portsmouth, OH and he preceded her in death in 1973.
Alice is survived by her children, Sonya Lynn (Terry) McClary, Ricky Lee Shelton and Stephen Ray Shelton all of Bucyrus, six grandchildren, Ryan (Ciarra) Shelton, Cody (Kathleen) McClary, Tyson Pinion, Tiffini Pinion, Tiniel Pinion, Jason Artrip, great-grandchildren, Karleigh Shelton and Emmett and Payton McClary and a sister, Judy Davis of Bucyrus. Alice is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Alice worked at Timken, Mary Kay, and owner/operator of “His & Hers Clothing Store from 1977 until 1985. She also worked for hospital medical records in Bucyrus and Galion. Alice liked playing cards especially euchre, board games and working with puzzles. She loved her dog “Lucy” and her special friend Regina.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters, Kay Ann Pinion, Rhonda Jo Shelton and Teresa Gail Artrip, four brothers, Robert, Jessee, Johnny and Edwin Burke and a sister, Betty Thompson.
There will be a private family graveside service held at Sandusky Township cemetery. The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
