Aphradesia L. (Thompson) Sigler, of Tiffin and formerly of Mount Vernon, Ohio, gained her heavenly wings after a brief illness on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, OH surrounded by her beloved children.
Aphradesia was born on June 27, 1955 in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to the late William G. and Ila R. (Bates) Thompson. She married Charles E. Sigler on April 11, 1984 and they later divorced.
Aphradesia leaves behind her three daughters, Pandora (Domingo) Torres of Frederickton, OH, Jeffreyca Jackson of Mount Vernon, OH, Ila (Michael) Gabel of Tiffin, OH, eleven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, three brothers, John Shutt of Chesterville, OH, Jeffrey Shutt of Mt. Vernon, Robert Shutt of Fredericktown, OH and two sisters, Barbara Shutt of Johnstown, OH and Lois Partipilo of Marion, OH, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She also leaves behind her furry cat companions, Fancy, Top Cat “TC”, and her dog companion, Hershey Kisses “Pup Pup”.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Janet E. Ryan and Pamela Torres and a brother, William G. Thompson II.
Aphradesia was a homemaker, factory worker, semi-truck driver and also worked at MOTA Transportation. She was a member of Mount Vernon Eagles and Moose Lodge for many years. Aphradesia was a 1973 graduate of Mount Vernon High School.
Amongst spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, she enjoyed crocheting, planting flowers and all of God’s natural creations. She loved to travel all over, with her most recent trip to North Carolina in October 2023.
There will be no funeral services or burial held at this time. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
