Barbara A. Jacoby, 88, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at St. Francis Nursing Home in Tiffin.
Barbara was born to Harry and Gladys (Hunt) Foist on August 11, 1932. Barbara married David Jacoby on April 3, 1953.
Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Coffman and Rondalyn (Ronald) Winkler both of Tiffin. Grandchildren, Eric (Krista) Coffman of Fostoria, Kelly Winkler of Tiffin, Kory (Tanya) Winkler of West Union, Heather (Thomas) Siebenaller, Cody (Erin) Cook. Great-grandchildren, include Carter and Carley Coffman, Addison and Emery Siebenaller, Maverick, Kensington and Kruze Winkler, Wyatt and Bo Cook.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Mary Brown and Nadine Gates, two brothers, Jack and Harry Foist, also a beloved and very special Aunt Clemence Vogel.
Barbara worked at the General Electric plant in Bellevue and retired from there when the plant was shut down. She served on the city park board, city council and was the Mayor of Bloomville for 25 years.
Barbara was a volunteer for many years. She served as the blood collection chairperson for the American Red Cross. She received the Outstanding Volunteer Service - Gold Award presented by the American Red Cross. She received the Clara Barton award from Western Lake Erie Region. She served on the board of Allen Eiry Senior Center, where she received the Outstanding Voluntary Service award. Barbara was honored as the volunteer of the year for Seneca County. She was an Ohio Reads volunteer at Bloomville Elementary School. Barbara received a certificate of appreciation from the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Barbara was a wonderful cook and baker and will be remembered for making the best chocolate malt cake on the planet. She also loved attending her grandchildren's athletic events.
There will be a private family service held for Barbara at Seneca Memory Gardens. The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.
