Barbara Lynch

Barbara A. Lynch, 82, of Green Springs, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026 at her residence.

Barb was born September 1, 1943, in Winston Salem, North Carolina, to the late Clayton Van Hoy Johnson and Ida Mae (Teague) Contos. She married Wayne Lynch on May 9, 1964, in Tiffin, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons, Warren (Vicki) Lynch of Fostoria and Thomas (Cheryl) Lynch of Green Springs; grandchildren, Aaron (Ashley) Lynch, Ashlee (Brennon) Boes, Alexis (Joshua) Ohler, Josiah Lynch, and McKenna Lynch; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary (Wendy) Johnson of Tiffin; and a sister, Nancy Windsor of Michigan.

Barb was a 1962 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and also earned a culinary certification from Tiffin University. She then went on to work at St. Francis for over 30 years in the dietary department.

Barb was an active member of Compassionate Ministries in Green Springs and her local Grandmother’s Club chapter. She loved to assist with anything her church needed, especially all of the charitable endeavors. Barb also loved to read and was an animal lover, specifically her cats.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband, parents, step-father, Andrew Contos, and a brother-in-law, John Windsor.

Funeral services for Barb will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Fairmont Cemetery immediately following the services.
