Benny J. Fitch

Benny J. Fitch, 66, of Tiffin, passed away at 1:01 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2022 at his residence.

Benny was born December 18, 1955 in Tiffin, to the late Birgus and Carrie (Thacker) Fitch. From a very young age, Benny learned how to be a hard worker and to earn everything he had. He was one in a family of ten children, so family was very important to him. He truly believed in making the most of every moment we have with each other.

Benny spent most of his life preaching the Word of God. He pastored for 17 years at the Upper Room Tabernacle in Tiffin. Most recently, he was the Pastor of The Beginning in Tiffin. Benny spent every morning at the church. Before he would start his day he would pray for his family, friends, community and people that had missed church. He was a very selfless person.

Benny's interests included reading the Word of God and tons of books, church, fishing, working on cars but most all, helping others.

Benny married Christine M. (Taylor) Fitch on December 17, 2016. Together, they shared the love of Jesus and enjoyed traveling.

Benny was preceded in death by siblings, Carolyn Gibson, Madelene Bolen and a son, Benny Fitch Jr.

Benny was survived by his five children, Linda Moore, Benjamin Moore (Chantel Lorentz), Monica (Robert) Steward, Janet Sager (Chris Romig), Crystal (Michael) Lemons; three step-children, Alexander Hoffman, Dylan Reid and Eli Forsythe, seventeen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, seven siblings, Birgus Fitch, Linda Mesnard, Megalene (Wayne) Goble, Jewel (Jerry) Houck, Patricia Flugga, Kathy Fitch and Edna (David) Dodson.

There will be a celebration of Benny's life held at a later date. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
