Bernadette M. Stephens, 64, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus, OH.
Bernadette was born April 23, 1960, in Tiffin, to Stephen Birch and Edith (McGown) Blott. She married Butler Stephens in Tiffin on December 12, 1986 and he survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include her mother, Edith Blott of Tiffin, children, Nicole (Steve) Kauffman of Port Clinton, Ben Stephens of Tiffin, Scott (Dawn) Stephens of Arcadia and Samuel Stephens of Toledo, nine grandchildren, Gabe Wagner, Steven and Ethan Kauffman, Alex McCabe, Autumn-Belle and Archibold Stephens, Mya Mattox, Lukas and Liam Stephens, great-grandchildren, Sterling, Stella and Stacy Wagner and Grayson Lininger, two brothers, Steve (Giovanna) Birch, Paul Birch, two sisters, Teresa (Kenneth) West and Christine (Jim) Grimes all of Tiffin.
Bernadette worked as a Certified Dietary Manager and recently retired from the School of Opportunity as Food Service Director. She also cooked for Reach for the Stars Camp and spent many years catering with her brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Paula Birch. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dog "Zorro", doing puzzles, coloring, and gambling with her siblings. Bernadette was a 1978 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School.
Bernadette was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Mark Birch.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 3-5 p.m., at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. There will also be a Celebration of Bernadette’s life held immediately following the Visitation at the Tiffin Amvets, from 5:30 p.m., until 9:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
