Bernice C. (Reed) Durer, 95 of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at The Vancrest of Upper Sandusky.
Bernice was born on August 18, 1930, near Forest, Ohio, to the late Burle and Fairy D. (Jolliff) Reed. She married Harold F. Durer in Fort Wayne, IN on May 28, 1951 and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2017.
Survivors include her two daughters, Yvonne E. (Dean) Snider of Mentor, OH, and Beverly S. (Robert) Werner of Upper Sandusky, six grandchildren, Jean E. (Billy) Pykus, Kristin B. Snider, Asa T. Snider, R. “Kenny” (Abbey) Werner, Michael J. (Ciara) Werner and Jenna T. Werner, five great-grandchildren, Natalya G. and Maks A. Pykus, Avery L. Werner, Ezra J. and Lazarus M. Werner. Also surviving is a sister, E. Marie Shuey of Tiffin, and many nieces and nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Charles R. and T. Neal Reed and Larry Lee Reed, five sisters, M. Maxine Cupp, Ruth H. Fatzinger, C. Betty Parker, Mary E. Barber, Fairy Kathryn Reed.
Bernice was a 1948 graduate of Sycamore High School and a 1950 graduate of Tiffin University. She worked for Basic Refractories, now MGQ for nine years and later retired from St. Francis Home after twenty-four years. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and its friendship circle.
Funeral services for Bernice will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin the Rev. Karsten Snitker officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be on Tuesday, from 10-11 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow services on Tuesday at Oak Hill cemetery in Upper Sandusky.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to DaVita Dialysis Center or to the charity of the donor's choice.
