Brenda A. Matter

Brenda A. Matter, 65, of Tiffin, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

Brenda was born March 15, 1959, in Tiffin, to the late William Porter Sr. and Helen D. Martin. She married Shawn M. Matter in Tiffin on April 27, 1985 and he survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include her children, Jennifer (Chad) Kessler of Tiffin, Cassandra (Billy) Dawson of Tiffin, Jeremy (Michelle) Matter of Tiffin, Darick (Eve Delgado) Matter of Leipsic, OH, fifteen grandchildren, a great-grandson, three brothers, Ed (Yvonne) Herter of Muskegon, MI, Tom (Daphne) Herter of Findlay, William Porter Jr. of Norwalk, a sister, Diann (James) Phillips of Bloomville and many nieces and nephews.

Brenda was a homemaker and also worked at Autumnwood Care Center and Lees Chicken. She was a 1977 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and also attended Tiffin University. Brenda enjoyed chit-chatting with friends, caring for her pets and most of all spending time with her family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Clara Herter, parents and a sister, Donna Hook.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 4-6:00 p.m., at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. There will be a private family funeral service and burial held.
