C. Adelphia Martin Obituary

C. Adelphia “Delphi” Martin, age 94, of Attica, passed away Friday morning January 29, 2021, at Ohio Health Mansfield, after a brief illness.

 Adelphia was born September 20, 1926, in Reed Twp. Seneca County, to Carl H. and Ora P. (Featheringill) Williams. She married James “Paul” Martin on June 8, 1947 in Attica, and he preceded her in death in 2011.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane L. Straub of Tiffin, and June E. Martin of Attica, three grandchildren, Stephani (Tracy) Underwood, Kimberi (Ken) Wurts, and Tiffani (Curt) Reiter, four great-grandchildren, Alex Gunaris, Garrett Underwood, Karrigan Wurts, Brok Ekleberry, and one great-great-grandchild, Elliot Ekleberry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Marion and Bruce Williams, four sisters, Cleona Garman, Clara Smith, Pearl Tusing, and Carol Loar.

Adelphia worked at the former Ben Franklin Truckstop, Attica Farmers Exchange, and for Dr. Kenneth Schaaf.

She was a 1944 graduate of Attica High School and attended Tiffin University. A member of the Attica United Methodist Church, Just Neighbor Club, Attica American Legion Post #260 Ladies Auxiliary, Trustee of Omar Chapel Association, Order of Eastern Stars Tiffin Chapter #189, former Worthy Matron of Sappho Chapter #58 OES, Tiffin Ladies Shrine Club, Denderah Court #10 Ladies Oriental Shrine, Women’s Literary Guild, Attica Historical Society.

There will be a Celebration of Adelphia's life at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Attica United Methodist Church. The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica United Methodist Church, or to Seneca East Public Library.
