Candace Murphy Obituary

Candace L. "Candy" Murphy, 73, of Tiffin, passed away at 5:10 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Elmwood at the Shawhan in Tiffin.

Candy was born March 16, 1948, in Tiffin, to the late William and Margaret (Miller) Hamilton. She married Patrick H. Murphy in Tiffin on December 10, 1966 and he survives in Tiffin.

Survivors include a son, Mark (Danielle) Murphy of Columbus, a daughter, Tami (Richard) Burke of Tiffin, four grandchildren, McKinnon and Colin Murphy, Megan (Chance) Brickner and Olivia Burke (Daniel Bartley) along with two great-grandsons, Cordel and Conway Brickner and a sister, Terry Magers of Tiffin.

Candy worked for Dr. Lowry and Dr. Dornauer before going to work at Fair Haven Nursing Home in Upper Sandusky and after retirement she worked at Tiffin University assisting in the cafeteria. Candy enjoyed cooking, baking, working with her flowers, and just spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Candy was a 1966 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School where she graduated in the top of her class.

Candy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ron Hamilton.

There will be a Celebration of Candy's Life for family and friends held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the Tiffin VFW. There will be no formal burial or visitation held at this time. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to Bridge Hospice.
