Carissa Rachelle Carter, 29, of Republic, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in the company of her true love and fur baby, Hades.
Carissa was born May 31, 1992 in Tiffin, to Tony Carter and Teresa Ferguson who both survive in Republic.
Other survivors include, two brothers, Dylan and Seth Carter, two sisters, Tessa Lundy and McKensey Carter all of Tiffin, five nieces and one nephew, Rae-Ann & Amyah (Tessa), Eliza & Aria (Dylan) KhaLeesi & Tonio (McKensey) all of Tiffin. Carissa is also survived by her paternal grandparents, William Carter of Tiffin, Jack (Karen) Shrode of Knoxville, TN and her maternal grandparents, Hazel Ferguson and Karl Guilkey of Tiffin and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Carissa graduated from Seneca East High School with honors in 2010. She enjoyed participating in theatre and singing. Carissa loved being outdoors and being in touch with nature. Those who knew her know how brave and courageous she truly was, always ready for the next adventure. Her free spirit could not be tamed. Not all who wander are lost. Her kind heart and her bright soul has made an impact on many people around her and her fire will burn on forever.
Funeral services for Carissa will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 8, 2021at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be on Thursday, from 2:00 p.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home. There will be no burial held at this time.
