Carl Jacob Thom Jr., 69, of Tiffin, passed away at 5:45 a.m., Monday, March 29, 2021 at his residence.
Carl was born in Tiffin on March 18, 1952 to the late Carl J. and Florence (Scholidon) Thom. He married Linda (Shook) on February 11, 1972 at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Linda of Tiffin, his son, Jason (Cherie) Thom Bellevue, a daughter, Monica (Chris) Nickoli of Monroeville, six grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Thom, Tyler, Robert, Ethan and Emma Nickoli.
Carl retired from American Standard after 35 years. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the AmVets and DAV, a member of the Tiffin Moose Lodge. Carl was proud of his lawn and enjoyed his Harley and his guns. Most of all Carl enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Carl was a United States Army Veteran serving with the 101st. Airborne.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Norman, Donald, Kenneth and Wallace Thom, two sisters, Janet Guzman and Carol Wyss.
Funeral services for Carl will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, April 2, 2021 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. There will be a Rosary prayed 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, from 4-7 p.m., at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Burial will follow the services on Friday, at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery with military rites being rendered by the United Veterans Council.
