Carla R. Young

Carla R. Young passed away in her home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. She will always be remembered as a quiet, kind, resilient woman who loved her family and friends fiercely. She loved a good bargain, movies, Jeeps, Garfield, and her cats. While Carla faced numerous setbacks in her life, her resiliency was truly something to admire. She faced every challenge in her life head-on and was a fighter.

Carla, recently retired from Hopewell Loudon Schools, spent her first official school day of retirement missing her students and colleagues. She truly had a passion for her students and their academics and enjoyed shaping young minds. On her first day of retirement, she felt lost, not being where she spent so many years doing what she loved, but she was so excited to have more time to dedicate to her family. This is a strong testament to her dedication to her career and her students.

Carla was a family woman and was so proud of her two sons, Tyler and Kole and was so excited to gain two daughters in their recent marriages. Her newest title of grandma had her smitten as she adored her two granddaughters and was eager to welcome more grandchildren in the future.

Carla was an avid thrifter and found the best treasures. She could frequently be found searching for ideal trinkets to spoil her children and grandchildren with. Carla was blessed with many kind and loyal friends, but above all, her dear friend Cathy whom she lovingly shared her family and endeavors with. It is with great sadness that we mourn Carla’s death, but we know that grief is truly just love. If it weren’t for love, there would be no grief.

Carla is survived by her parent, Frances and Angela Reinhart, her sons, Tyler (Stephanie) Young, Kole (Caity) Young, siblings, Deb (Ken) Coppus, Denny (Mel) Reinhart, and Theresa Clagg, and her granddaughters, Faith and Annistyn, as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 11:00 a.m., until 1:00 p.m., at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. There will be no funeral service or burial held at this time.
