Obituary

Carole Lynn Kessler 85, of Findlay, formerly of Republic, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2021 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, Ohio.

On December 31, 1935 Carole was born in Bucyrus to the late Lynden C. and Phyllis (Hoverson) Jones. She graduated from Republic High School.  During her high school years, she met her sweetheart, George J. Kessler and on January 9, 1954 they were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin. Together they shared 56 years of marriage and lovingly raised six children. He preceded her in death November 12, 2010.

Carole took great pride in caring for her husband, children, and their family home. She grew a vegetable and flower garden every year. She was a talented seamstress, played a critical role in raising farm animals, and cultivating the family farm. She was musically inclined, enjoyed listening to music, and most of all dancing at Meadowbrook Park with the love of her life.

Together Carole and George took great pride in making their farm look like a “park”. Carole could often be found riding a lawnmower mowing the grass.  Those efforts created the perfect place to share camping and picnicking events with their children and grandchildren.

Carole was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and Rosary Alter Society. She possessed a quiet strength and always sacrificed her needs for the good of others. She devoted her life to her faith, husband, children, and family.

She will be dearly missed by her children, David and Martha Kessler, Scott and Sandy Kessler, Mark and Dianne Kessler, all of Republic. Philip and Teresa Kessler, of Attica. Leesa and Nathan Fruth, Annette Kessler and Wendy, all of Findlay. Carole had 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Including her husband and parents, Carole was preceded in death by her sister Sandra Webb.

Per Carole’s wishes, a private celebration of life will take place followed by burial at Farewell Retreat cemetery in Republic. The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to F.A.C.T., the Parkinson’s Foundation, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
