Charles “Charlie” Edward Bish, 83, of Tiffin passed away peacefully at 3:21 a.m., Friday January 24th, 2025, at his home with his bride and beloved fur babies by his side.
Charlie was born on May 16th, 1941, in Adams Township, Seneca County to Carl S. and Margaret A. (Siebenaller) Bish. Charlie married Sandra F. (Robinson) Bish on October 4th, 1991, and she survives in Tiffin.
Charlie was a 1959 graduate of Calvert High School. After High School, he worked at the General Electric Plant in Tiffin until its closing. He went on to work for Whirlpool in Findlay until he retired. During this time, Charlie also owned and operated his bar, “Charlie’s Place,” in Carey for nine years. After that, he owned another bar, “Cooters,” in McCutchenville for seven years.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Carl S. and Margaret A. Bish, his sons Jeffrey J. Bish and Gregory A. Bish, and his siblings M. Marilyn Werling and Lester L. Bish.
Charlie is survived by his wife Sandra of 33 years, his siblings, C. Eugene Bish of Pensacola, FL, Barbara J. Leirer of Lynn Haven, FL, and Janet A. Robenalt of Tiffin, his son Robert C. (Angela) Bish of Tiffin, step-children Michele and Kenneth Maag of Tiffin, and Christina (Victor) Harvey of Macclenny, FL, his grandchildren Joseph Bish, Valerie (Richard) Feasel, Stephanie Johnson, and Andrew Bish all of Tiffin, his step-grandchildren Angelo, Nathan, and Diamond Anese, Korrine and McKenzie Maag all of Tiffin, Travis (Haley) Harvey and Wade Harvey of Macclenny, FL, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Charlie was a 17-year survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, a battle he fought courageously. Charlie was a one-of-a-kind soul and will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved him. He was a man of many witty one-liners. He was very proud of and loved his family very much and loved nothing more than creating life-long memories with them. He was a proud member of The Moose Lodge 846 of Tiffin for 50 years. He developed many close friendships over the years and loved to socialize. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and meticulously manicuring his beautiful lawn. For 27 years, he maintained a pool at his home where endless memories were created with friends and family alike. He also enjoyed the company of his many pets over the years: Boomer, Bear, Cookie, and Sheba and is survived by Prissy and Wolf.
According to Charlie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Memorial contributions benefiting F.A.C.T (Financial Aid for Cancer Treatment), St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or the Wounded Warrior Project can be made through Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin.
