Charles H. Pullins, 95, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at The Willows of Tiffin.
Charles was born on August 27, 1928 in Cottageville, West Virginia, to the late Wyvil and Minnie (King) Pullins. He married Dorothy R. (Miller) in Fort Wayne, Indiana on October 21, 1950 and she preceded him in death on August 18, 2009.
Survivors include his children, Barbara (Neil) Jordan of Tiffin, Debra Dell of Tiffin and Chuck Jr. (Carol) Pullins of South Amherst, OH, five grandchildren, Matthew (Amy), Brent (Sherry), Kimberly (Jack), Lindsay (Mike) and Joshua (Kara), six great-grandchildren and a brother, Chester (Nancy) Pullins of Fremont.
Charles worked at Atlas in Fostoria and retired in 1990. He was a 1945 graduate of Point Pleasant High School in West Virginia and a United States Army Corporal serving during Korea. Charles built his own home in 1958 and lived there for 66 years. He enjoyed family camping and vacations all over the United States, trips to Europe, Canada and Alaska with friends, golfing, riding his motorcycle, coon hunting, hunting for the biggest mushrooms, fishing and boating at Lake Erie. Charles was a member of Lion’s Club, HiLo camping club, Bascom Volunteer Fire Department. Charles exercised 3 times a week at Body Works and was an inspiration to all who knew him there.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two grandchildren, a brother, Troy Pullins, a sister, Alveta Shinn and a brother-in-law, Arnold Shinn.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sears and The Willows team for their excellent care given to Charles.
There will be a private family graveside service held at Sandridge cemetery in Bascom, OH. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
