Clifford E. Goodman, 96, of Bettsville, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.
Clifford was born on September 19, 1927 in Bettsville, to the late Ralph and Clara (Machir) Goodman. He married Carolyn (Channels) on April 16, 1949 and she preceded him in death.
Other survivors include his sons, Gary (Arnee) Goodman of North Carolina, Ronald (Mona) Goodman of Defiance, and Robert (David) Goodman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, a daughter, Gay Norman of Bettsville, his significant other, Joyce Harrison of Bettsville, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Clifford retired from Basic Refractories after 40 years. He was a Boy Scout Leader and a member of the Bettsville Library Board and the Frankhouser Scholarship Committee. Clifford was a graduate of Bettsville High School and a United States Army Veteran serving during WWII and Korea.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter, Anita Tietze, son-in-laws, Steve Norman and Duane Tietze, a brother, Eugene Goodman and a sister, Betty Milliron.
Funeral services for Clifford will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Bettsville with Pastor Sean Tietze officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Tuesday, at Pleasant Union cemetery in Old Fort.
