Colleen Murray Obituary

Colleen F. Murray, 55, of Bettsville, passed away on New Year's Day after a lengthy battle with rheumatic heart disease.

Colleen was born in Tiffin but spent the majority of her life living in Bettsville.  She graduated in the Class of 1985 from Bettsville High School. She also graduated from Sandusky School of Practical Nursing and then Owens Community College's Registered Nursing program. She was very proud of her profession as a nurse and worked mostly for Tiffin Mercy Hospital and most recently in the Emergency Department.

Colleen would do anything for someone in need. She served her community as a member of the Bettsville Park Activities Committee and was passionate about providing opportunities for people to enjoy outdoor activities. She also worked as a cashier at the Turtle Point Marina in Oak Harbor. Colleen enjoyed spending time by the lake in the campground. Colleen was active in the Heritage Festival in Tiffin, dressing the part of a pioneer along with her mother and brother. Colleen loved going to Cedar Point, her garden and her cats and believed in taking every opportunity for doing new and interesting things.

Colleen is survived by Jody (Gary) Eckler, of Castalia, Phillip Eckler of Sandusky, several other cousins, her uncle, D. Garth Lambright of Wakeman, best friends Paul and Bethany Dymond and family of Old Fort and furkids, Jacob and Zach.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Nevin and Doris (Wilkinson) Murray,  brother, Todd I. Murray, special aunts Mary Jane Smith and Ruth Lambright and furkids, Sunshine, Mitzi and Sam.
