Conchita Houk, 74, of Green Springs, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 11, 1950, Conchita lived a life full of humor, strength, and unwavering love. A proud Ohio State fan through and through, she brought the same passion to her family, her work, and her pets.
She retired from a dedicated career as a correctional officer and went on to give back in retirement, helping train new CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers—work that earned her several awards and the deep gratitude of those she mentored. Conchita was a mother not just to her own children, but to many who were lucky enough to know her. Her compassion, resilience, and wonderful sense of humor left a lasting mark on everyone she met.
Conchita is survived by her devoted husband, Rodney Houk; her children, Anna Young and Maurice (Mike) Young; her stepdaughter, Carrie Houk; her grandchildren, Nelika Young, Riley Young, and Mirasol Fusco; and her great-grandson, Paxton Young.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, July 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at Shook Family Funeral Homes, 135 N Washington Street, Tiffin, OH 44883. There will be a luncheon following the funeral service on Friday, at the American Legion in Green Springs and all are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Seebee Memorial Scholarship Fund in Conchita’s memory.
Her warmth, wit, and love will be missed beyond words—but never forgotten.
