Connie Mae Jewell, 69, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully Christmas Eve morning, December 24, 2020 at the Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.
Connie was born to the late James Allen and Fannie (Robinson) Smith on May 31, 1951 in Florence, Alabama. She married Harry Wise Sr. and they later divorced, she then married Gary L. Jewell on September 24, 1980 and he survives.
Also surviving are her five children, Mary Wise, Harry (Delores) Wise Jr., Kelly (Todd) Kimble, Sarah (Donnie) Wise and Heidi (Mike) Swartz, two step-children, Ronnie (Tammy) Jewell and Paul Jewell, twenty-one grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three sisters, Jeanette Spencer, Edith England and Patty (Mike) Mack, two brothers, Jerry (Sandy) Smith and James Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Lloyd Robinson, step-mother, Sally Smith, brother-in-law, Eddie England and her beloved granddaughter, Brianna Mae Wise.
Connie had a variety of jobs throughout her life, including working as a nurse's
aide, factory work and waitressing. However out of all of the things she has done there was not a single thing that meant more to her than her family. If you ever got the privilege to have a conversation with her she would be sure to tell you her children and grandchildren were her biggest pride and joy. She had a love for crocheting, knitting, animals and BINGO.
Loved by so many, Connie would light up a room the second she entered it. She was always full of the perfect amount of sass with an over-powering sweetness that you couldn't help but adore. She was the brightest light in the darkest days and will be forever missed.
The family would like to extend a Thank-You to the staff of Good Shepherd Home where she was known as everyone's "Granny." While there may always be a hole where she should be, there will always be a light shining where she still is.
Funeral services for Connie will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin, with Pastor Jerry Copeland officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the funeral home. There will be a private family burial held at Mexico cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in c/o Engle-Shook Funeral Home, 135 North Washington Street, Tiffin, OH 44883.
