David B. Kiesel, 79, of Attica, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
David was born on February 3, 1945 in Tiffin, to the late Fred and Betty (Haudenshild) Kiesel. He married Terry L. (Felter) in Issaquah, WA on September 11, 1998 and she survives in Attica.
Other survivors include his two daughters, Sue (John) Fuller of Stone Mountain, GA, Karla (Chad) Raymond of Attica, two step-sons, Troy (Laura) Felter of Tiffin and Col. Trevor (Jessica) Felter of Norfolk, VA, nine grandchildren, Aaron (Alexus) Fuller, Alijah Fuller, David (Ashley) Raymond, Joshua Raymond, Baily Felter, Ashley Felter, Zarek Felter, Anthony Felter and LilyAnn Felter, two great-grandchildren, Timothy Fuller and Liam Raymond. David was also survived by a brother, Tom Kiesel of Fostoria, three sisters, Sharon Lynch of Tiffin, Kate Weaver of Tiffin, Linda Hayman of Republic and his beloved cat “Paisley”.
David was a retired Senior Project Mechanical Engineer with American Standard. He also worked for Pettibone as a Construction Crane Designer. David was an esteemed Mechanical Engineer with multiple awards, certificates and also earned employee of the year during his working career. He graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1965. In 1972 he earned his degree in Machine Drafting from Chicago Technical College. In 1979 he continued his education by earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Terra Technical College and in 1990 he earned his World Class Quality Control of Manufacturing from JIT Institute of Technology and was a member of Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
David served in the United States Army during Vietnam from October 12, 1966 until October 11, 1968. He enjoyed designing with Auto Cad, model airplanes, wood working, spending time with his family, traveling to New Market, VA and the Appalachians, quilting, Amish country trips, sports cars and car shows along with sitting at the lake watching the boats go by.
David was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Don, Jerry and Jimmy Kiesel, five sisters, June Nycum, Marilyn “MiMi” Foos, Carol Springer, Judy Hoker and Terry Cramer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the services at the funeral home. There will be a private family burial held at Attica Venice cemetery.
