Della Lorine Deel

Della Lorine Deel, 94, of Republic, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at her residence.

Lorine was born in Grundy, VA, on February 12, 1930 to the late James Kelly and Alta Faye (McClanahan) Dales. She married Dorsey Deel in Grundy, VA in 1946 and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Danny Deel of Republic, four grandchildren, Dia Banister of Republic, Dana Deel of Republic, Danny Deel Jr. of Lubbock, TX and Todd Hansen of Republic, sixteen great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren, a brother, David Dales of Green Springs, a sister, Pat Fitzpatrick of Bellevue, many nieces, nephews and family.

Lorine retired from General Electric in Bucyrus and later worked as a food hostess at Campbell Soup Factory. She helped with Republic Food Pantry and also held her Realtor’s License and was the local Notary.

Lorine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, James Dales, four sisters, Pauline Owens, Mable Hale, Vera Thrun and Violet Mincer.

Graveside services for Lorine will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2024, at Butternut Ridge cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Friday, from 10:00 a.m., until noon at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Republic Food Pantry.
