Dennis A. Smith

Dennis A. Smith, 77, of New Riegel, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 at his residence after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Dennis was born June 27, 1946, in Tiffin, to the late Richard P. and Ruth L. (Theis) Smith. He first married Linda Kay Way and they later divorced, he then married Janice E. (King) in Tiffin on December 15, 1984 and she survives in New Riegel.

He is survived by his son, Brent A. Smith of Kansas, a daughter, Michelle (Tracy) Renninger of Warren, four grandchildren, Allison Smith, Zachary Aiello, Ryan Chavez and Kimberlee Jaynes, two brothers, James (Elaine) Smith, Steven Smith both of Tiffin, three sisters, Linda (LeVerne) Burns, Annette (Thomas) Brill and Laura (John) Richey all of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dennis was a tanker driver for BP Logistics and a lifelong farmer. He was a graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School.

Graveside services for Dennis will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Pleasant Union cemetery in Old Fort. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
