Devin Brooke Oyster, 46 of Tiffin, passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2025.
Devin was born April 20, 1979 in Fremont, OH to Dennis Shade and Denise (Darrell) Ventrone. On November 9, 2004 Devin married John W. Oyster in Mansfield, Ohio and he survives.
Devin and John had three children, Jayden Joe, Kylee Kay and Tristen Tyler all of Tiffin. Devin was very proud of her children and their accomplishments, and loved spending time with her family. She had three step children, Chris, Ami and Chelsea.
Along with her parents, husband and children, Devin is also survived by her mother-in-law, Linda Oyster of Mansfield, her sister, Deena (Paul) Smith of Tiffin and brother, Darren (Katherine) Shade of Katy, TX, and nieces, Dannah (Brad) Hoy and Caroline Shade, nephew, Owen Smith and great-nephew, Royce Hoy that will miss her greatly.
Devin loved her cats and would adopt any stray cat in the neighborhood, even if they were black and white with stripes down the back. Her cat outfits and decorations were a defining point for her “crazy cat lady” status and she wore the title proudly.
Devin had many opportunities to make a difference in people’s lives through work as a preschool aid and while working at Seneca County Job and Family Services. She had a kind heart and a gentle soul with compassion for everyone she met. The world lost a true treasure.
Devin was preceded in death by her daughter Kirsten, nephews, Logan and Austin, and her father-in-law, John Oyster.
Funeral services for Devin will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Tuesday, at Greenlawn cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be left for Jayden and Kylee’s college fund.
