Diane M. Boyd, 73, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, in the emergency room at Promedica Fostoria Hospital in Fostoria.
She was born November 30, 1947 in Tiffin, to James and Viola (Weber) Walter. Diane married George T. Boyd February 25, 1967, in England, and he preceded her in death on September 16, 2016.
Survivors include a son, Thomas (Anita) Boyd of Tiffin, and daughter, Deborah (Stephen) Wise of Republic, a special granddaughter, Deanna Boyd of Tiffin, a step-granddaughter, Amanda (Cory) Menke, of Wisconsin, three step-great-grandchildren, her best four leg companion Trixie, a brother, Chuck (Roberta) Walter of Republic, two sisters, Pamela (Norb) Mossing of Swanton, Ohio, Nancy (John ) Park of Astatula, Florida, a half- sister, Laurie Couch of New Jersey, two brother in-laws, Ted Boyd of Tiffin, and Chuck Boyd of Forest, three sister in-laws, Mary Jane Daughenbaugh of Troy, Leona (Tom ) Carlin of Tiffin, and Phyllis Boyd of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and step-father, Ray Gibson, her husband, a brother Jimmy Walter, a brother in–law, Nick Daughenbaugh, and a sister in-law, Margaret Ann Biller.
Diane attended Tiffin Columbian High School, and she moved to England and married her husband, and upon her return to Tiffin, she earned her GED, and she was very proud of that. She worked at the Virginia Lee Nursing Home in Tiffin, and also the manager at Speedway in Tiffin. She later became the manager of Hy-Miler Gas Station in Tiffin, retiring in 2004.
Diane’s summers were spent at her cottage along the Sandusky River, near Fremont. She also enjoyed reading, watching the Hallmark channel, and spending time with her granddaughter.
Services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR. 19 Bloomville, with Rev. Rex King officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin.
Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 11-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
