Donald T. Shock

Donald T. Shock, 80, of Republic, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021, in the emergency room at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.

Don was born October 13, 1940, in Bloomville, to the late Ernest and Florence Gretta (Hoover) Shock. He first married Marie (Hughes) and they later divorced then he married Sharon (Smarr) in Tiffin on December 6, 1992 and she survives in Republic.

Survivors include his two daughters, Dawn (Gary) Hoepf of Republic, LaDonna (Gary) Bumb of Bellevue, three step-children, Cami Gillian of Fostoria, Traci Smarr of West Mansfield, Eddie Smarr of McComb, six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren with two on the way, four step-great-grandchildren and a brother, Daryl (Mary) Shock of Bloomville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two great-grandchildren a step-grandson, two brothers, Richard and Robert Shock.

Don retired from American Standard after 40 years and he also worked at Walton Auctioneers in Upper Sandusky. He was a member of Butternut Church of Christ and enjoyed old tractors. Don was a 1958 graduate of Bloomville High School.

Funeral services for Don will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville with Brother Brian Sherrell officiating. Visitation will also be held on Friday, from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Pleasant View cemetery at a later date.
