Dorothea G. Sherman

Dorothea G. Sherman, 83, of Findlay and formerly of Tiffin, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.

Dorothea was born September 24, 1940, in Cincinnati, to the late Joseph B. and Margaret L. (Starrett) Esselman. She married Jerald R. Sherman I at St. Joseph Catholic Church on June 2, 1962 and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2014.

Survivors include her children, Jacqueline Sherman of Findlay, Jerald R. Sherman II of St. John’s AZ, Jillynda (Joshua) Kirian of Republic, Julia (Andrew) Afflick of Alpharetta, GA, Jennifer (James) Winkleski of Miamisburg, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister, Mary Brater of Hilton Head Island, SC, and a brother, Paul Esselman of Los Angeles, CA.

Dorothea spent her time working many different jobs throughout her working life. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter-in-law, Vicki Sherman, two grandchildren, Phillip and Dillon Bollinger and a brother, Joseph Esselman.

There will be a private family graveside service at Pleasant Ridge cemetery. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
