Dorothy T. Fey

Dorothy Therese Fey, 93, of Tiffin, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at The Courtyard in Tiffin.

Dorothy was born May 24, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late Frank and Anastasia (Jerka) Batka.

After graduating from high school, Dorothy worked at the Chicago Printed String company with her closest sister, Rita. They both transferred with that company to California. Dorothy met her husband in San Jose and had two children. Her husband’s job took her to Boca Raton, FL and Longmont, CO. The couple retired to Cortez, CO and spent time snow-birding in southern Arizona, before moving to Tiffin to be closer to their children.

Dorothy was known for her excellent cooking and for having the cleanest house anyone had ever seen. She enjoyed taking road trips and drives in the mountains, reading, ceramics, and painting. Dorothy spent the last two years living at Courtyard of Tiffin (formerly Randall Residence) where she felt at home, and very much appreciated the staff and residents who had become like family to her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, all nine siblings, and her husband, Robert L. Fey. She is survived by her children, Ron Fey and Wendy Fey of Tiffin and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Dorothy and Bob will be held at the Courtyard at Tiffin Assisted Living on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., friends of Dorothy and Bob and their families are welcome to attend. Flowers can be sent to The Courtyard at Tiffin. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
