Edith R. Rhoad, 90, of Bloomville, passed away Wednesday January 20, 2021, at her home in Bloomville, surrounded by her family.
Edith was born February 15, 1930 in Tiffin, to Courtney and Inez (Sours) Egbert. She married Ellis G. Rhoad on November 25, 1948 in Bloomville, and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2005.
She is survived by five children, Stanley (Charlotte) Rhoad of Virginia, Marilyn (Larry) Morlock of Bloomville, Janet (Larry) Miller of Attica, Joyce (Lee) Pipher of Attica, and Don (Tammy) Rhoad of Fremont, eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, a sister, Mardella Woolston of New Jersey, her caregivers, Angie, Melissa, and Debbie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Alvin, Donald, Theodore and Dale Egbert, three sisters, Pauline Shultz, Anna Ruth Bailey, and Lois Jean Egbert.
Edith was a 1948 graduate of Bloom Twp. High School. A member of the Bloomville United Church of Christ, the Women’s Guild, the Dinette Set, a Sunday schoolteacher, a 4-H leader for the Bloomville Busy Bees, an avid camper, and was a member of, the Good Sam’s Pioneer Rolling Wheels Camping Club, the Bloomville Mother’s Club, an avid Rummy and Euchre card player, playing at the Bloomville Community Center, a Texas Horse shoe tournament player, also she enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking. Edith was a beautician, and a homemaker.
Funeral services will be Saturday January 23, 2021, at 1:00 pm., at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR. 19 Bloomville, with Pastor Tom Kagy officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Bloomville.
A walk through visitation for family and friends will be Friday January 22, 2021, from 5-8pm. at the funeral home. Visitors are asked to please wear masks and practice social distancing during visitation and the funeral services.
