Edwin G. “Poppy” Young, 90, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at The Willows of Tiffin.
Ed was born on March 21, 1935 in Fostoria, to the late Clifford Sr. and Coletta (Daymude) Young. He married Pamela M. (Stauffer) in Tiffin on November 1, 1963 and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2002.
Survivors include his children, Jeff (Leah) Young of Gibsonburg, Jai (Angela) Young of Tiffin, Jason (Jill) Young of Tiffin, Jody Young of Tiffin, Josette (Michael) Heschel of Tiffin, and Jill (Douglas) Depinet of Bloomville, fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, a companion, Betty Brady of Tiffin, two brothers, Clifford Young of Fostoria, Gerald Young of Cincinnati, and a sister, Kay Hutchins of Texas.
Ed retired in 2007 as a Truck Driver and was a former member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Republic. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and the Tiffin Eagles. Edwin was a United States Air Force Veteran.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister, June Bechtel.
Graveside services for Ed will be held at 11:15 a.m., on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Farewell Retreat cemetery with Military Rites being rendered by the United Veterans Council. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Saturday, from 10-11:00 a.m., at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville.
