On December 30, 2020 I lost my best friend, my partner, my lover and my husband Elbert Mullins. He was the best man I ever met. We never parted without a good-bye or goodnight kiss and I love you.
We met in May of 1982 and married January 18, 1985. We were blest by God with 35 loving years. We did everything together, had some great vacations but we were happiest being together in our home. We remodeled our home, built and added to a shed, built a deck around a hot tub and kept up the yard work. We built a playset for the grandkids and had many happy Easter egg hunts, birthdays and Christmases.
Al was born and raised in the hills of Kentucky and moved to Ohio at the age of 18, but he was always loyal to the Kentucky Wildcats.
He retired from Ford Motor Company after working there 36 years. He liked to tinker in his workshop and could fix anything. He was proud and took great care of his vehicles, especially his 2003 Ford Ranger. Al joined the catholic church at the Easter vigil Mass in 1996 and attended services weekly thereafter at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tiffin.
He is survived by his loving and grieving wife Helen. His son Jeff and wife Jeanne and daughters Emily and April, who live in California. His daughter Laura Hintz and friend Terry Myers and her daughters Alisha and Casey and grandson Beau who live in Cincinnati.
His step-children who he accepted as his own all live in Ohio. William Myers and wife Susan, daughter Jackie and son Will in Sunbury. Laura Kagy and husband Scott with daughters Katrina and Caroline in Bloomville. Jennifer Bankey and husband Troy, son Tyler and daughter Allison in Woodville.
He was one of 12 children of Thomas and Mae (Back) Mullins. He has one living brother Earl in Texas and many nieces and nephews. His passing leaves a big hole in my heart that can never again be filled. I love you Al.
As Ever, Helen
There will be no services for Al at this time. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
