Emilio R. Chavez Jr.

Emilio R. Chavez Jr., 73, of Tiffin, passed away at 5:06 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Mercy Health Tiffin Hospital.

Emilio was born November 15, 1949, in Lamesa, TX, to the late Emilio T. and Natalia R. (Rodriguez) Chavez.

Surviving are his children, Eliza A. Edner, Mary A. Chavez, Emilio Chavez III, Christina A. Chavez, Bianca I. Chavez, Joshua Chavez, thirty-one grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Clara Alaniz and Janita (Manuel) Gutierrez.

Emilio retired from Excel Wire. He enjoyed taking people out to eat, spending time with his family and helping others. Emilio wore his heart on his sleeve.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass at church. There also will be a funeral luncheon held from 2-4 p.m., at Somerset Hall in Tiffin and all are welcome attend. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery at a later date. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
