Eric L. Bear

Eric L. Bear, 48, of Fremont, passed away at 2:40 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon.

Eric was born on March 23, 1972, in Fostoria, to Robert and Betty (Pfleider) Bear. He married Loretta (Aldrich) on September 10, 1994, in Fremont, and she survives in Fremont.

Survivors include Eric’s mother, Betty, wife, Loretta, two daughters, Kaylee Bear of Fremont, and Josie Bear of Fremont, two granddaughters, Aurora Allen of Fremont, and Omelia Bear of Fremont, and three brothers, Michael Bear of Ypsilanti, MI, Rodney Bear of Tiffin, and Glenn (Lorie) Bear of Houston, TX.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Robert.

Eric graduated from Lakota High School in 1990 and worked as a machinist. He was known to be a handyman, enjoyed working on cars, target shooting, and woodworking. Eric loved spending time with his granddaughters.

A funeral service for Eric will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Bettsville with Pastor Rex King officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the funeral services on Saturday at Kansas Cemetery.
