F. Jo Ann King, 81, of Tiffin and formerly of Republic, passed away at 5:10 p.m., Sunday, September 5, 2021, at St. Francis Home in Tiffin.
Jo Ann was born December 23, 1939, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Russell and Mae (Mee) Kent. She married Louis “James” King at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tiffin on June 24, 1961 and he preceded her in death on September 25, 1999.
Survivors include her children, Randal (Annette) King of Republic, Lucinda (David) Land of Findlay, and Melissa Bowerman of Lima, Darin (DeAnna) King of Tiffin, Jonathan (Emily) King of Cincinnati, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a brother, Byron (DeAnn) Kent of Attica.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, two brothers, Marvin Kent and Jimmy Reevis and a sister, Marva Coffman.
Jo Ann will be most remembered for her work with children, having spent many years doing child care in her home. Jo Ann enjoyed her plants, flowers, sewing, watching the Cleveland Indians and playing cards. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Church of many years and currently a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a 1957 graduate of Bloomville High School.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, September 10, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass at church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4-7 p.m., at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville. Burial will follow the services on Friday, at Farewell Retreat cemetery in Republic.
