Frances "Ann" Williams Obituary

Frances "Ann" Annada Williams passed away January 26, 2022, at the Randall Residence in Tiffin, at the age of 97. Ann was the first born to Boyd and Vera (Mercer) Dager on April 26, 1924, on the family farm near Robertsville, Ohio. Ann graduated from Minerva High School in 1942 and went on to earn her RN degree from Mercy School of Nursing in Canton. She served in the United States Nurse Cadet Corps caring for wounded soldiers during and after WWII. One of the wounded men she cared for would later become her husband of 63 years. Ann and Carl A. Williams were married on June 6, 1948.

Ann is survived by her son, Kevin Williams, daughter, Cheryl (Keith) Buonocore, granddaughter, Breann Buonocore, grandson, Kyle (Venus) Buonocore and many nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Carl in 2011, her first born, John B Williams in 1969 and her three siblings.

Ann was a woman of service, led by her faith. She was active in First Lutheran Church of Tiffin and Fishers Of Men Lutheran Church of Pine Island, FL. Spreading love to others is a cornerstone of Ann's legacy from her making quilts at Church to send around the world to bring warmth and comfort, to sponsoring numerous children of the world. She also belonged to Mothers Club, Professional Nurses Club, Bridge Clubs in OH and FL, Golf Leagues in summer, Bowling League in winter. She sang in the Church Choir and was Church Organist in FL into her 91st year. She worked in hospitals in Indiana, Gainesville FL, Canton, Toledo and Tiffin in Ohio.

Ann and Carl enjoyed boating on Lake Erie and around Pine Island, camping trips, cruises and traveling around the world having visited dozens of countries. Ann and Carl became snowbirds for many years and enjoyed their blessings. Ann never knew a dessert she didn't like. She brought love and laughter to everything she did....oh, and a pie. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was a devoted wife, nurturing mother and grandmother, kind friend to many.

Her final wish was to return to Ohio to be closer to the resting place of her beloved husband. We all cherished her dearly, but have confidence she is with the Lord, singing and laughing, maybe baking a pie for the choir of Angels.

Funeral services for Ann will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Clayton Bailey officiating. Burial will follow the services at Fairmont cemetery. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
