Gary O. Gurney

Gary O. Gurney, 78, of Attica, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024 in the emergency room at Mercy Health in Willard.

Gary was born in Willard, on August 9, 1945 to the late George and Violet (Miller) Gurney. He married Jane Snay in West Independence on November 14, 1964, and she preceded him in death on September 13, 2023.

Survivors include a son, Eric (Jen) Gurney of Attica, a daughter, Krista (Jim) Phillips of Attica, five grandchildren, three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Janet Swartzmiller, two brothers, Dennis and Billy Gurney.

Gary was a member of the Union Pisgah Church. He had worked at the Pioneer Rubber Company and also was a farmer.  He later worked at Attica Lumber Company retiring in 2008.

Friends and family are invited for a graveside service for Gary at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Attica-Venice Cemetery with Pastor Ron Spyker officiating. There will be no visitation held at this time.  The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.
