Gary Lee Wheeler, 68, of Tiffin, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital Emergency Room.
Gary was born October 30, 1957, in Findlay, Ohio, to the late Gerald L. Wheeler and Ida (Richey) Dunn. He married Wendy S. (Montz) Wheeler on October 6, 1978.
Gary is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wendy; his son, Michael L. Wheeler; his daughter, Laura E. Wheeler (Joseph Sterling); his grandson, Cameron L. Levi; and his sister, Pamela (Koanne) Kathrens.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Christy Wheeler.
Gary was a proud Eagle Scout who lived his life as a generous, kind, and caring man. He loved his family fiercely and unconditionally. Gary was so proud of his children and grandson, Cameron. He never missed an opportunity to talk about him and show off his picture.
Gary loved being outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and spent his free time fishing and golfing with his best friend, Dale. He was also a devoted Detroit Tigers fan.
Gary will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A private graveside service for Gary will take place at a later date. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with arrangements.
