George William Stine, 90, of Tiffin, passed away at 8:25 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022 at his residence.
George was born February 22, 1932, in Republic, to the late Franklin and Euvitus (Cook) Stine. He married Carol Ann (Pennington) in McCutchenville, on April 9, 1955 and she preceded him in death July 2, 2006.
Survivors include his two sons, Robert (Becky Caudill) Stine, Ronald (Janene Burns) Stine, a daughter, Connie (Kenny Davis) Fretz all of Tiffin, three grandchildren, Robert, Jeffery and Emily, five great-grandchildren and brother, Franklin Stine of McCutchenville.
George retired from American Standard after 40 years and then went on to work at the Advertiser-Tribune and for the Decker Family in his younger years. He enjoyed playing Dart-Ball and watching Ohio State Football and the Detroit Tigers. He was a United State Army Veteran serving during Korea and was a 1950 graduate of Attica High School. GW's Fine Foods & Spirits was Proudly named after George William Stine.
George was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carol Ann, three brothers, Louis, Richard, Tony and three sisters, Helen, Marilyn and Janeann.
The family would like to thank Bridge Hospice for taking such exceptional care of their father during these trying times.
Graveside services for George will be at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Greenlawn cemetery. A reception will be held at GW’s Fine Food & Spirits in Tiffin immediately following the graveside services for a time of food and fellowship. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
