Gerald E. Manning, 89, of Attica, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Willard Mercy Hospital.
Gerald was born in Silver Creek, New York on February 10, 1932, to the late Marion L. and Erma B. (Huer) Manning. He married Rebecca R. (Rogers) in North Ridgeville, OH on October 15, 1966.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Rebecca R. (Rogers) of Attica, his children, Frank (Maria) Manning of Irving, NY, James (Denise) Manning of Republic, Patricia Holmer of Attica, William (Bernadine) Manning of Wakeman, Gerald (Paula) Manning Bellevue, thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a brother, Lester Manning of Forestville, NY.
Gerald worked for New York Central and Penn Central and later retired from Conrail after 40 years. He was a member of the Attica American Legion #260. Gerald was a United States Army Veteran serving during Korea where he received his Purple Heart.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary Ann (Hanmann), a son-in-law, Kenneth Holmer, three brothers, Don, Dick and Joe Manning and a sister, Shirley Sanderson.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 4-8 p.m., at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville. There will be a private family burial held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.
