Gilbert Lloyd Nava

Gilbert Lloyd Nava, 67, of Republic, passed away at 1:38 p.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2021at his residence.

Gilbert was born May 12, 1954, in Tiffin, to Gilberto and Amelia (Almendarez) Nava both of Tiffin.

Survivors include his children, Charro Saad of Arlington, D'Angelo Nava of Toledo, Gilbert Nava of Findlay, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, eleven sisters, Amelia "Molly" Carreon of Cleveland, Mari Pennycuff of Tiffin, Esther Guerrero of Findlay, Nellie Nava of Tiffin, Sally Stinchcomb of Tiffin, Nancy Nava-Wade of Tiffin, Effie Meisner of Tiffin, Louie Porter of Tiffin, Mikki Clancy of Tiffin, Evalina Sours of Tiffin, Cori Nava of Tiffin and many nephews and nieces.

Gilbert attended Bettsville Elementary and Junior High School, Columbian High School and Findlay College. He worked at Heinz in Fremont and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gilbert was very talented, creative and handy with his hands. He enjoyed working on cars, drawing, painting and had a special love for bicycling. Gilbert loved his pets, especially his best friend, a Shih Tzu named Flash.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his twin infant sisters, Maria and Guadalupe Nava.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass at church. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Joseph cemetery. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca County Humane Society.
