Gordon E. "Gordy" Schwab Jr.

Gordon E. “Gordy” Schwab, Jr., age 72, former resident of Tiffin, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 in Tampa General Hospital following an unexpected illness.

He was born on January 30, 1952 in Willard, Ohio to the late Gordon L. and Margaret M. (Frankenfield) Schwab. Gordy was a 1970 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and had lived most of his life in Tiffin. He had worked as a yard conductor for 23 years at the Norfolk and Southern Railroad in Bellevue, and later worked as a union carpenter until his retirement. Gordy enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Erie, deer hunting, and traveling. In his retirement years he spent his winters in Mississippi and Florida enjoying

the Gulf Coast and the casinos.

He is survived by two sons, Matt (Jodi) Schwab of Willard; Greg Schwab of Tiffin; three granddaughters, Cadence, Avery, and Baylee Schwab of Willard; a brother, Gerald Schwab Sr. of Merritt Island, FL; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and two step-sisters.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Schwab.

A celebration of Gordy’s life will be held at a later date, with burial of his cremains at Attica-Venice Cemetery in Attica, Ohio. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
