James R. Coffman, 72, of Tiffin, passed away at 7:09 p.m., on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at his residence.
Jim was born on February 19, 1949 in Tiffin, to the late John and Melva June (Feasel) Coffman, Sr. He married Carol (Wheatley) in Tiffin, on March 10, 1972.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Carol Coffman of Tiffin, two sons, Nathan (Kelly) Coffman of Republic, Joshua (Tatiana) Coffman of Gilbert, AZ, eight grandchildren, a brother, John (Virginia) Coffman Jr. of Springfield, OH and a legendary childhood pet rooster named Digger.
Jim survived growing up on a farm as the second youngest of a small baseball team, the Vietnam war, many years as a rooftop HVAC Electrician, nearly 50 years of marriage and two kids before passing away peacefully. Jim was a purveyor of fine bird aspects, oatmeal cookies, and long drives for no reason. He was also a dad joke hipster, telling them before they were cool. Jim was a 1967 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. Jim was involved with Ohio Bluebird Society and the North American Bluebird Society.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters.
There will be no funeral services held for Jim at this time. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
