On Friday, May 29, 2026, James Donald Knott went to his heavenly home to join the Lord and loved ones that passed before him.
Jim was born April 2, 1954, in Marion, Virginia to the late Andrew J. and Ruby T. (Gross) Knott. He married Phyllis (Tyree) in Clintwood, Virginia on November 26, 1976 and she survives in Tiffin.
His is also survived by his son, Jason Daniel Knott, grandson, Kaleb Joseph Knott, granddaughter, Alysen Renee Young, brothers, Norman Knott of Wisconsin, Larry (Chrys) Southerland of S. Carolina, sisters, Janice (Charles) Fisher, Darlene (Ed) Gossard, and Michelle (Keith) Maternowski, all of Florida. He is also survived by many cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his son, Joe Knott who was killed while riding his motorcycle, his parents, brothers Daryl and Robert Knott.
Jim left W. Virginia with a group of skilled glass workers and worked at Tiffin Glass. There he met his future wife, Phyllis Tyree. In 1976 he was employed by Clyde Whirlpool until his retirement.
Graveside services for Jim will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Fairmont cemetery. The Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
