James Mira Obituary

James John Mira, 65, was born in Bellevue, OH to Anthony and Carol (Miller) Mira on October 15, 1960. He graduated from Seneca East High School in 1979. He later married the love of his life Tina Scherger Mira on September 22, 1990 in Tiffin by Father Schroeder, and she survives in Tiffin, OH. Jim passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with two chronic illnesses.

Other survivors include daughters, Lindsay (Sam Reece) Mira of Dublin, OH, and Brooke (Seth) Runion of Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Raelynn, Tristan, Addie, and baby girl Runion due in November. Brother, Tony (Deb) Mira of Oregon, OH, sisters, Candy Mira of Fremont, OH, Chris Zacharias of Findlay, OH, and Kim (Matt) Missler of Van Buren, OH, brothers-in-law, Norbert (Gayle) Scherger, Dennis (Carol) Scherger, and Dave Main, all of Tiffin, OH, sisters-in-law, Sue (Mark) Baum, Chris (Rich) Welter, both of Tiffin, OH, and Darlene (Roger) Rucker of Powell, OH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, parents- in-law, Norbert (Leora) Scherger, brother-in-law, Richard Zacharias, sister-in-law, Linda Main, and grandchild, Alex Runion.

Jim's greatest passions were his family, spending time with his faithful dog, Gus, and simply enjoying the warmth of the sunshine on his face and shoulders. He enjoyed family vacations, riding his motorcycle and participating in American Legion Rider activities, listening to music, collecting firearms, and, in earlier years, camping.

Jim was deeply honored and proud to have served his country in the United States Army. He also took great pride in receiving his Million Mile Safe Driving Award during his career as a professional driver with Linde.

Following his military service, Jim worked for Chemi-Trol Chemical Company, BOC/Linde Gas as a truck driver, and most recently at Clyde Whirlpool, where he drove tow motor. He retired in March 2022 after many years of dedicated service.

Jim will be remembered for his independence, stubborn streak, and especially his quick wit, humorous one-liners, knowledge of music artists/songs and unforgettable stories. He enjoyed talking with people and never met a stranger.

Above all, Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man. He was deeply loved and cherished by his wife, daughters, and extended family, who will miss him beyond words. He treasured moments spent with his grandchildren and enjoyed spoiling all the young ones he met with little treats, as well as any visitors to his home.

Jim's legacy of love, laughter, service, and devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The family wishes to thank all those who helped care for Jim, the medical staff at Ohio State University Hospital, Mercy Health, Bridge Hospice, and especially all the family and friends who visited and helped in so many ways these past weeks.
