Joseph Donald Knott, or as most people called him “Joe” 45, of Tiffin passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 in Tiffin. Joe was born April 20, 1978 to James and Phyllis (Tyree) Knott. Joe graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1996. He worked in maintenance at Continental Structured Plastics in Carey. He is survived by his father, James Knott, mother, Phyllis Knott, brother, Jason Knott, son, Kaleb Knott, Alysen Young who he considered as a daughter, and girlfriend, Christy Nye. His is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joe was a free spirit who enjoyed the great outdoors and enjoyed life itself. Like the ripple effect of throwing a stone in a steady stream, he touched a lot of lives and a lot of hearts. There weren’t too many places you could go without running into someone he knew. He had a lovable and care free attitude that was contagious. He very much lived life to the fullest, always ready and willing to seek the next adventure.
Joe’s accomplishments include, being a softball coach, a volunteer firefighter and a devoted father. Joe loved hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, sports and making long trips at various destinations around the United States. He was a go getter and never allowed himself to be rooted in one place for too long. One of Joe’s favorite things to say was, “You only live once”.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Local (Dorothy) Tyree, Ruby Gross, Andrew Knott, uncles, Gary (Dexter) Tyree, Daryl Knott, Robert Knott, aunt, Sharon Tyree and cousins, Austin Counts, Duane and Connor Tyree.
We are all truly devastated by the loss that we are experiencing, rest in the precious arms of the Lord. Heaven has gained a precious soul. Joe saved a lot of lives but unfortunately wasn’t able to save his own. Our sudden and unexpected loss has left a beacon of light for everyone. “Look Twice and Save a Life”.
