Joyce Hudson Barrows

Joyce Hudson Barrows passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at The Manor at Greendale in Findlay, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born on January 10, 1942, in Bucyrus, Ohio; Joyce was the daughter of Carl and Eileen (Markley) Henry.

She is survived by her daughters, Kim (Glenn) Orwig of Tiffin and Angie (Rick) DiGioia of Tavares, Florida, as well as her sister, Jeanne Garrett of Bucyrus.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law, Byron Garrett, and her son-in-law, Arthur Levy.

A 1959 graduate of Bucyrus High School, Joyce worked in several retail establishments and especially enjoyed serving others. She was co-owner of the Rocking Horse Children’s Clothing store in Tiffin and later found her calling in cosmetics retail. Joyce delighted in assisting customers at the Estée Lauder counter at Joseph’s and Uhlman’s. Her talent and warmth led to her promotion as Estée Lauder representative for Uhlman’s stores throughout Ohio and Michigan, where she made many lasting friendships. She later excelled in the purchasing department at Uhlman’s Corporate Office in Bowling Green.

Joyce’s creativity extended far beyond her professional life. Gifted in design and décor, she embraced a new career as an interior designer with Fine Design in Sylvania, helping others create beautiful and welcoming homes—something she truly loved.

An artist of landscapes, flowers, and whimsical scenes, Joyce shared her artistic gifts generously, blessing many friends and family members with her unique pieces.

She also had an extraordinary “green thumb,” nurturing flowers of all kinds, and a deep love for animals—especially her beloved dog, Bella, and her cat, Riley. Joyce cherished attending Cedar Creek Church while living in Toledo and later United Baptist Church in Tiffin, where she formed many meaningful friendships.

Funeral services for Joyce will be held at noon, on Thursday, December 4, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin, with Pastor Mike Noggle officiating. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to United Baptist Church in Tiffin or the Seneca County Humane Society.
