Obituary
Kathryn Gettys, 91, of Attica, passed away Friday evening, August 18, 2023, at the Willows at Willard.
Kathryn was born April 7, 1932, in Tiffin, to the late Paul M. and Ella M. (Dolch) Schubert. She married Joseph W. Gettys on May 28, 1950 in Tiffin, and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2004.
Survivors include her children, Diana (Bernie) Spyker of Attica, Nancy Gettys of North Carolina, Paulette (Bill) Seasly of Republic, Beth (Linda Mc Kenzie) Gettys of Sandusky, and Teresa (Mark) Shetzer of Attica, seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, a great-grandson Noah Stockmaster, three brothers, Harold, Vernon, and Alvin Schubert.
Kate was a 1950 graduate of Scipio- Republic High School, and was a very active member of the Attica Community Church. She was a former employee of the Attica Drug Store, and the Attica Raceway, Heimlich Dairy Maid, and she also bakes pies for the Backroads Dinner in Attica.
Private family services will be Wednesday August 23, 2023, at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville, with Pastor Ron Spyker officiating. Burial will follow at Seneca Memory Gardens in Tiffin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Community Church.
