Kay Ellen Miller

Kay E. Miller, 91, of Republic, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at her residence.

Kay was born in Tiffin, on September 1, 1933, to the late Vincent William and Marie (Price) Fries. She married Edgar Albright Miller at Republic United Methodist Church on April 20, 1952 and he preceded her in death on November 6, 2016.

Survivors include her children, Kathy (Tom) Reinhart of Tiffin, Kimberly (Don) Thompson of Republic and David (Beth) Miller of Republic, seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and special friends, Nelson (Debbie) Wright of Green Springs.

Kay was a wife and homemaker who loved history. She was a member of Republic United Church of Christ and a graduate of Republic High School. In her younger years she was very involved with the Eastern Stars and worked through the chairs. She was a genealogist, card player and an avid reader. She was a member of Republic Historical Society and the West Lodi Historical Society. Most of all Kay enjoyed her visits with her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Robert Price Fries.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Willows of Tiffin for their great care to Kay during her stay.

Funeral services for Kay will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Republic United Church of Christ with Pastor Darla Metz officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be held on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow the services on Tuesday, at Block cemetery. The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Republic Fire Department, Republic Historical Society or Bridge Hospice.
