Lester “Charles” Vanover, 77, of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Spring Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Green Springs.
Charles was born March 2, 1947, in Honey Bee, KY, to the late Roman Matthew and Martha Cathrine (Morgan) Vanover. He married Wilma Jane (Sours) in Green Springs on October 24, 1970 and she survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include his two daughters, Joanna Steele of Tiffin and Leslie (Charles) Fox of Tiffin, a son, Chad (Brooke) Vanover of Sterns, KY, ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, three brothers, Arnold (Naomi) Vanover, Luster (Winnia) Vanover and Doyle (Virginia) Vanover all of Tiffin and a sister, Bertha Mae Young of Parkers Lake, KY.
Charles retired from Webster Manufacturing and was a member of both Tiffin Freewill Baptist Church and Eagle Baptist Church. Charles was a 1967 graduate of Whitley City High School.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Fletcher and Francis Vanover and a great-granddaughter, Scarllette Jane Dianne Steele.
Funeral services for Charles will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, from 5-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. There will be a private family burial held at a later date.
