Lyle "Larry" Drown Obituary

Lyle “Larry” Drown, 84, of Republic, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at his residence.

Larry was born February 4, 1940, in Fremont, to the late Lyle Elsworth and Helen (Gibbs) Drown. He married Kay (Wadsworth) on August 2, 1958 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Republic and she preceded him in death on August 30, 1997.

Survivors include his children, L. Scott (Karen) Drown, Rodney L. (Tonya) Drown, Jason L. (Kristie) Drown all of Republic, Lei Anne (Riky) Bare of Attica and Lori Kay (Darin) Bollinger of Bloomville, seventeen grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren and one due in October, two half-brothers, Bill (Betsy) Drown of Findlay, Terry Drown of Clyde, two sisters, Pricilla Ann (Gary “Kit”) Wadsworth of Tiffin and Bonnie Jean (Ron) Oberholtzer of LaPorte, IN.

Larry was a Breadman, Milkman and Farmer for Flat Rock Children's Home, he also worked as a salesman for Hackney, retiring in 2003. He was a 1958 graduate of Green Springs High School and enjoyed his morning coffee and mowing his lawn.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister, Sharon Sue Hunt and half-brother, Tom Boyer.

There will be a private family graveside services held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2024 at Seneca Memory Gardens in Tiffin and there will be a potluck celebration of Larry’s life held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 3513 County Road 23 in Attica. The Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home in Bloomville is assisting the family with their arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Scipio Republic Veterans and First Responders Memorial Fund or Seneca County Humane Society.
